In days of yore, Swayamvar ceremony culminated in the bride marrying the groom of her choice. But Rakhis’s swayamvar show built up the suspense to greater level and the pendulum of decision was dangling between marriage and engagement. Finally, she chose Elesh.
Quite strategically, Rakhi referred to the swayamvar as an 'engagement', and deferred the marriage to a later date.

“I’m not getting married, now,” she had revealed to a news daily, adding, “I’m selecting someone from the show to be my life partner. It’s more of an engagement.”
One source said Rakhi was contractually obligated to get married in the show’s finale. However, reports in recent days had emerged suggesting that a way out had been formulated for Rakhi, with the man she selects given the option of choosing to marry her or walking away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Now it remains to be seen if Elesh and Rakhi would solemnize their decision as well!
